Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 7th that it recently held the final screening and awards ceremony for the “2025 Bucheon Danbi Enterprise Startup Support Project” and selected nine teams with startup ideas that address social issues.
The “Danbi Enterprise Startup Support Project,” which began in 2017 and is now in its ninth year, is Bucheon City’s flagship startup incubation project. It identifies startup ideas that address local social issues and implements them into social economy models. This is a Q-incubating project.
Forty-four teams applied for this year’s program, and nine teams were ultimately selected after intensive training, expert consulting, an initial written review (15 teams were selected), and presentation training.
JS Global won the grand prize for its proposal, “Creating a Healthy and Safe Living Environment Using Advanced NDIR CO2 Sensors.”
The grand prize went to the PS Team for its “Thin Film Pressure Sensor-Based Safety Platform for Safe Electric Scooter Riding,” and the Small Tree Social Cooperative for its “Woodworking Education for the Elderly to Prevent Dementia.” Excellence Awards went to the Evernoa team for “Eco-Friendly Clothing Production Using Waste Fabric,” BioHeal for “AI-Based Medical Big Data Treatment Information Chatbot,” and Bebeto for “Toy Recycling and Educational Content Linked with Seniors.” Innovation Awards went to the Public Design Lab team for “Smart Bus Stop Heating and Cooling System Using Rainwater and Geothermal Energy,” Naite for “Recycling and Discharge Management Solution Using AI Analysis and NFC Authentication,” Freeworld for “Social Economy-Based Web Community Platform for Freeworkers,” and SNOF for “Strengthening Identity through Fragrance-Themed Education and Product Consulting.”
The selected teams will receive various support at each stage of their startup journey, including business model advancement, customized mentoring, and commercialization funding.
Cho Kuk-jo, Director of the Job Policy Division of Bucheon City, said, “The Danbi Startup Support Project goes beyond simple startup support; it’s a crucial platform for fostering citizen entrepreneurs who can solve local problems.” He added, “We hope the selected teams will become a new driving force for innovation in the local community.”
Bucheon City plans to continue to accelerate the creation of a sustainable startup ecosystem based on the social economy.
